“What do you mean, original music?” I hear you ask…. the easiest answer to that is, not covers of other artists. Original bands may cover popular songs from time to time but prominently they write and perform their own songs and lyrics, supported by fans that follow their band and people willing to open their ears and hearts to the prospect of loving a new local band with original music that they’ve never heard before.
Scunthorpe have had some outstanding bands with original material, it seemed slim pickings for a while with many leaving the scene or calling it a day but it looks like there are a few new formations to liven the original scene back up and things are looking a little more exciting than last year.
