18 and 19 JANUARY at The Baths Hall – SAINT PETERSBURG CLASSIC BALLET
Having wowed audiences across the UK since 2016, Saint Petersburg Classic Ballet returns to The Baths Hall in January 2022 with two spectacular productions of Tchaikovsky’s best-loved ballets: perennial favourite, The Nutcracker, and the elegant Swan Lake. Under the expert direction of Marina Medvetskaya, this acclaimed company combines classical training and technique with outstanding soloists to entertain audiences in breath-taking style. A full orchestra complements the purity of the dancing and traditional staging, to bring a taste of imperial Russia to the UK.
21 JANUARY at Cafe INDIE
Speak Out Scunny
Open mic of 2022! Slots of up to five minutes are available for anyone wanting to perform, regardless of experience. Poetry, prose, comedy, monologues or sketches – all are welcome. Just turn up and say you want a slot. Parental Advisory: we welcome young people both as performers and in the audience, but we cannot guarantee that the night won’t contain adult themes and language. Doors open at 6:30pm to start at around 7:30pm.
21 JANUARY at The Baths Hall – MERCURY
Mercury has established itself as one of the world’s most authentic tribute bands to Freddie Mercury and Queen. A choreographed stage show, with spectacular and authentic costumes, high class production including dramatic and striking lighting effects. The show includes stardom, showmanship and an energetic performance from Joseph Lee Jackson as ‘Freddie’, together with excellent musicianship, including beautifully crafted harmonies, and intricate guitar work from Glenn Scrimshaw as ‘Brian May’. Tickets for the rescheduled 2021 shows remain valid.

22 JANUARY at Ropewalk Barton– The Outside Track
The Outside Track’s marriage of Canadian, Scottish and Irish music and song has been rapturously received around the world. Hailing from Scotland, Ireland and Cape Breton, the band’s five members – four powerhouse women – Teresa Horgan, Mairi Rankin, Ailie Robertson and Fiona Black along with Michael Ferrie, are united by a love of traditional music and a commitment to creating new music on its foundation. Using fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar, flute, step-dance and vocals these five virtuosos blend boundless energy with unmistakable joie de vivre. Each player within The Outside Track is a master of their chosen instrument with the band stacking up an impressive amount of international awards.

23 JANUARY at Ropewalk Barton– Geraint Watkins & His Band
His love of vintage R&B and effortless ability to re-create it makes Geraint Watkins one of the most in-demand all-rounders in the business. He has recorded and performed with a cream-of-the-crop line-up including Nick Lowe, Van Morrison, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, Andy Fairweather Low, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney Status Quo and Eric Clapton and fronted many great bands as well from The Dominators in the late ‘70s to The Balham Alligators. His band, hand-picked hot shots who are all in the same groove, is for many, as good as it ever gets.

Host of BBC One’s All Together Now and team captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats. He is also the star of BBC One’s Live At The Apollo, Would I Lie To You?, Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, BBC Two’s Mock The Week, ITV’s Play To The Whistle, ITV2’s Celebrity Juice and Sky’s A League of Their Own. And he is a host of Dave’s podcast, The Magic Sponge, alongside Jimmy Bullard and Ian Smith.
29 JANUARY at Ropewalk Barton-Kit Hawes & Aaron Catlow
Kit Hawes and Aaron Catlow are a Bristol based duo playing acoustic, folk and roots music. Weaving a musical dialogue between fiddle, guitar and voice, Kit and Aaron explore the rich musical heritage of the British Isles, and create original music inspired by the traditions they grew up in. In demand as musicians, writers and arrangers, Kit and Aaron have worked with many established artists including Grammy Award-nominated Yola, Seth Lakeman, Afro Celt Sound System and Roni Size.
