Brick by Brick: International LEGO® Brick Art
Saturday 5 October 2019 to Saturday 4 January 2020
Our Brick by Brick exhibition gathers the work of more than 15 artists, designers and photographers from around the world who use LEGO® bricks as their medium or inspiration. Using this simple plastic construction block as their starting point, they have created stunning, thought provoking and often humorous artworks which will appeal to art enthusiasts and LEGO® fans alike.

Inspired by the wide range of artworks on show, a LEGO® graffiti wall, build tables and a selection of LEGO® related games and competitions will give you the opportunity to try your hand at creating your own construction brick artwork.
Look out too for paid workshops and free drop-in activities including these taking place during October:
Saturday 12 October 10.30am-3.30pm: LEGO Stop Motion Animation Workshop
Saturday 19 October 10am-4pm: Beat the Architect Competition (free, drop-in)
Tuesday 22 October 10.30am-3.30pm: LEGO Speed-building Competition (free, drop-in)
Thursday 24 October 10.30am-3.30pm: LEGO Bridge Building Competition (free, drop-in)
(All of the above activities are suitable for adults and for children aged 8+)

Brick by Brick Family Funday
Saturday 5 October 2019 10am-4pm
Join us for an action packed day to celebrate the opening of our Brick by Brick exhibition. Meet LEGO® costume characters Emmet and Lucy, have a go at our LEGO® brick challenges, take part in a golden brick treasure hunt and a mini-figure safari competition and help us to complete a large-scale LEGO® brick mosaic*. And of course, we’ll be inviting you to join us for some crafting on our ARTivity table, where our makes will be inspired by the theme of the day.
This is also your first chance to take a look around our brand new touring exhibition, Brick by Brick, which features artists who use LEGO® bricks in their work. The show includes a range of two and three dimensional work in a variety of scales, from jewellery to sculpture and showcases the wide range of creative approaches that artists take when using this iconic construction brick.
Find out more about the Brick by Brick Family Funday here.
*Please note that there is a £1 charge for the mosaic activity. All other activities are free.
