On Friday 17th November 2017.
Local promoter Will Nicklen’s Crown Promotion and Management brought four bands to The Lincoln Imp for a night of punk music.
First up was One Chapter Down, who have been my most seen band this year, due to the number of times they have been support act for a lot of the gigs I have attended.
Their mixture of punk, rap and rock music always seems to go down well with their hometown crowd and the band have improved a lot over the times I have seen them.
The band performed a set of original material, before ending on a cover of Britney Spear’s hit “Baby One More Time” in their own style, which has now become a regular finale for the group.
The band are going to be recording more material in the new year and say they have big plans happening in 2018.
More information on the band can be found on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/onechapterdown/
Next up were The Siknotes from Grimsby, who gave an energetic set which saw one of the guitarists leaping around the stage, whilst giving a fun and entertaining performance.
This band was new to me and they were thoroughly entertaining and worth a look if you have the chance.
The Siknotes are performing their last gig of the year at Moon on the Water in Grimsby on Saturday 2ndDecember and will then be finishing off working on their new album.

Aerial Salad, a punk band from Manchester, were the third act of the night. This was another enjoyable performance, which the crowd enjoyed and was a good way to get them ready for the main headline act of the night, which was coming up next.

Wonk Unit were the act it seemed that everyone had come to see.The crowd sang, moshed and partied from start to finish.
Wonk Unit started their set off with songs such as “Horses” and “Lewisham” before allowing the audience to select their set and dedicating songs to their fans.
Highlights including the crowd dancing around like horses in a circle and The Siknotes joining Wonk Unit on stage to sing along.
A fun, entertaining band that really goes the extra mile to please the fans, so try and catch them if you like punk music.
Wonk Unit are finishing off their current tour called “The She Goose Tour” and have a Christmas single coming out in December called “Christmas in a Crackhouse”.This will be followed up by the release of the new album “She Goose” and a UK Tour in April.
