Rews and Fly No Flag // The Lincoln Imp,

Rews and Fly No Flag, The Lincoln Imp, Scunthorpe on Saturday 18th November 2017.

Female duo Rews, who are being tipped for big things, performed in Scunthorpe as part of the launch of their debut album “Pyro”. They were supported by Fly No Flag from Grimsby are a four piece rock band, featuring a lead female vocalist.

The band members are all still very young but musically they sound better than a lot of acts I have seen at a much older age.

Performing a set of original songs, with a few covers thrown in as well, this went down well with the crowd and was very enjoyable with great performances from all involved.

The Rews then took to the stage and performed a fantastic set which proved me that these two ladies are destined for bigger things.

Even though they are tipped for big things, when I had the opportunity to meet and speak to the band before the gig, I can tell you they are really down to earth with no egos and just genuinely seemed very nice.

After performing at this years Glastonbury on the John Peel stage, DJ Mark Radcliffe called them “a female Royal Blood” and were one of his favourite acts of the weekend.

They also became one of my favourite bands I have seen this year after a fantastic performance.

These two beautiful young ladies were so talented.

Shauna Tohill made it look so easy to play the guitar and Collette Williams showed some of the best drum skills I have seen live for quite some time.

Fantastic songs and vocals, combined with fantastic drum and guitar playing skills, left me wanting more. Songs such as “Your Tears” sound like something that should be part of a soundtrack that I could see playing during the end credits of a movie.

Rews are a band you won’t regret taking the time to check out.
