Quick Review // Koostix Live@Five @ Penny Bank Pub

Sunday night at the Penny Bank, people made it out in the cold and rain for some Live @ Five Sunday’s with Grimsby Duo Koostix consisting of members Lee Martin and Mick Lond.

The duo covered a variety of songs from different era’s from Foo Fighters & Green day to older classics like Tina Turner and Dolly Parton.

Koostix

Frontman Lee is a real showman and a pretty funny guy. He interacts well with the audience and makes jokes and comments throughout his performance. Lee has good vocals with a diverse range to his vocal ability, plus bags of personality with added innuendos at no extra charge.
It was my first time seeing Koostix perform but I think we can expect to see them in Scunthorpe again very soon.

The afternoon turned into night and as the night progressed the gig seemed to merge into a open mic, with various local musicians getting up and performing different songs. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

The other musicians we saw were, Mick and Kerry from Louth, “Homeless & Blue” they got up and powered through a set of classics from artists like Pink Floyd.

We also saw local musician Connor Dunk perform a couple of songs and Leon Gazi sang some original material and a cover of Adele.

All in all a good Sunday night of live music in the town centre.
