The Winter Warmer event is being hosted by Friends of Althorpe & Keadby Primary School (registered charity)

Friends of School (FOS) are a small team of enthusiastic and hardworking people who are dedicated to improving the school environment for all who attend, as well as providing opportunities for the children and the wider community.

We are also responsible for the ongoing care and development of Bramblebank Wood as a community nature area.

All the above makes a huge contribution to school life and we try really hard to fund all the little extras that make Althorpe and Keadby Primary so special.

Some of our regular events included PJ parties, cinema nights, Shopping evenings, As New Sales and the annual Christmas and Summer Fairs which are a main source of fundraising.

In the past we have been able to fund whole school trips to the pantomime, re-stock the school library, provide buses for various trips and events so as to ease the burden on parents financially, hire a children’s author to work with the children and many other resources throughout the school.

The Winter Warmer came about as a way of providing something a bit different in the cold months for the local community to get together and enjoy some really fantastic music whilst also raising some funds for FOS.

We are really excited by the acts who have agreed to come along on the night, Nick Akester has played at a couple of our events in the past and been very well received, the Axettes are from the local secondary school, Axholme Academy in Crowle, so it is wonderful to have them offer to open the evening for us and we are blown away by the offers to perform from The Crash Blossoms, Ramble Gamble and Lizzie Goddard who are all so highly regarded by our team and the local music scene.

Thanks also to Scunthorpe Instant Print who have helped us keep our printing costs as low as possible and to Sam Broadbent of SMB Promotions for producing our promotional flyers and who is sound tech at the event.
