Appleby-Frodingham Railway Preservation Society is set to resume their summer steam railtours of the local steelworks.
The first steam railtour of the season is on Saturday 10th May and places are expected to fill up quick but if you don’t get a place on that one don’t worry – the tours run weekly until the end of September.
The tours around the Tata site last around 2 and a half hours and include a visit to the Society’s loco sheds. During the tour a guide will give a running commentary of what you can see which include the modern day processes as well as seeing some relics of the early Dawes Trent Ironworkings.
