Could the Black & White Party Return? Scunthorpe Nights possible Showcase Revival 12 Years After Sell-Out Success.

Over a decade ago, in 2013, the Scunthorpe Nights “Black & White Party” Showcase took over The Wortley House Hotel, that saw a sold-out room of music fans and local musicians supporting each other.

It’s been 12 years and three months since that first event and I’m gauging public interest to bring the magic back.

It’s not a Contest, it’s a Community and our local culture of musicians and friends. The mission remains the same, this isn’t a talent show or a competition. It is a curated platform designed to bridge the gap between local artists and music lovers. It’s about discovering the world-class talent hiding right on Scunthorpe’s doorstep.

“It was a pretty special night, the energy was incredible, we had people trying to pay their way in with £20 notes at the door because we were at absolute capacity. I stepped away from the gig promotion scene a while ago, but it has been a while! Looking back to then, it was a close community of musicians and fans.”- Scunthorpe Nights

If the community response is strong enough, the revival will focus on a local showcase featuring new and long standing Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire talent. With a mix of established local legends and fresh upcoming acts. There’s an open invitation for local promoters to team up and pool resources.

There would be a small ticket fee to ensure professional sound engineering and setup, with a direct cut of the proceeds going to the performers and to support advertising local.

Musicians, Promoters, and Fans
The project is currently in the “expression of interest” phase. To make this event a reality, I’m looking for interaction from the Scunthorpe community. Whether you are a veteran sound engineer, a promoter looking for a fresh collaboration, a musician ready for a stage, or a fan who wants a night of live music, your voice matters.

It’s not about the profit, it’s about the people and the music.

If the event progresses we will be in touch

Anyone wanting to donate time, your fee can be donated to a local charity. This is for originals bands and solos only. You may play a covers in your set but be primarily an artist with your own songs.

Please note there is no set performance fee. Ticket fees will cover set up and sound and whatever is left over will be shared. The ticket fee will be low to encourage more local people to sample local live music.

This event will only go into planning if enough interest and support is shown.
