HOLY YOUTH MOVEMENT + Marseille + Reignmaker

Saturday 3rd May 2025
Cafe Indie, Scunthorpe, DN15 6EH

Holy Youth Movement are a five-piece band from Bristol, consisting of drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals.
Their sound is a heavy mix of rock n roll and electronica fuelled by dance floor rhythms, driving bass and a huge wall of synthesizers and guitar, all topped off with soaring anthemic vocals and melodies. Their love of rock n roll and bands like Primal Scream and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club as well as being huge fans of Dance Music and artists like The Chemical Brothers and Underworld lead them to experiment with the task of combining those 2 genres.
After writing songs and developing their new sound they approached legendary Producer Jagz Kooner to take care of production duties on all their songs. Jagz was instantly hooked after hearing the album demos and totally blown away when he saw the band in rehearsals. He commented that they were one of the best live bands he’d ever seen and said the music was the perfect amalgamation of what he best described as ‘electronic rock n roll’. Radio X’s John Kennedy made their single ‘Better Together’ an Exposure Hot One.
The huge potential of syncs for their music was highlighted when Scotts Menswear used their debut single ‘You Thought I Was Dead (But Baby I’m Just getting Started)’ on a viral social media campaign for their clothing range. Having previously Supported Primal Scream (on their Maximum Rock n Roll tour) as well as The Dandy Warhols and a string of festival performances including Glastonbury, Holy Youth Movement shows are a jaw dropping live experience not to be missed!

Marseille, a young band from Derbyshire creating a fusion of swaggering ’90s guitar music with the roaring, experimental sounds of shoegaze. Over the past 3 years Marseille have been releasing a strong body of work and playing killer sets across the UK gaining a cult fanbase and recognition from various media.
The band have been featured on BBC Radio 6, Radio X and Soccer AM. They have also played prestigious festivals such as YNOT and Isle of Wight and in the early stages of 2023 the then 17-year-olds embarked on a 10-date, sell-out UK tour. The band have recently played This Feeling’s Big in 2024 in Manchester.

Quickly rising up through the underground scene of their native Liverpool, passionate indie quintet Reignmaker have already established a distinctive style. They channel their youthful spirit and charismatic scouse personalities to create a sound that radiates an uplifting optimism. Combining swelling rock and roll textures with soaring vocal chorus’ and lyrics filled with a striking poignancy, their sound is one that is impossible to ignore.
Fresh off releasing their huge new single ‘Find My Own Way’ and selling out their hometown headline show at the O2 Academy 2, Reignmaker have played across the country alongside local star Jamie Webster at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire and more.
Tipped by BBC Introducing, the band have quickly become one of the most hotly anticipated young bands in the North West and they are only just getting started!
