REVIEW // DONUTS & SHAKES

We don’t often try or review takeaway sweet treats so this was a first and it comes in the form of Donuts & Shakes.

The name is a big giveaway when it comes down to what’s on the menu but there is plenty of choice and there are other options too!

We tried the Lotus Biscoff & The Oreo milkshake. The milkshakes were thick, cold and creamy and made with fresh cream. They came with a strong wide straws, which seems a strange thing to say, but really it helps! Trying to drink a thick milkshake through a tiny bendy pipe cleaner straw is hardwork. You know what I mean.

I know Lotus Biscoff is a pretty big flavour crave for alot of people at the minute and I wasn’t sure what all the fuss was about but this milkshake came out on top for us. The depth of flavour in both milkshakes was distinctive enough to know what flavour they were without the added clue topping.

It’s a good portion size and the shakes were filling!

Next up, the donuts. Now these aren’t for the faint hearted because they will give you a real hit of sugar and sweetness but the taste and smell was amazing when we opened the box. The donuts were both still warm with a generous helping of chocolate drizzled on top.

You’ll need a wet wipe after but you just have to get stuck in and face the fact you will get a chocolate facial in the process of consumption.

The smarties donut was covered in milk chocolate and smartie pieces and the kinder bueuno topping was a tasty sauce and had chunks of bueno filling the middle.

The actual donuts were reminiscent of a day at the seaside, the freshly fried taste, sprinkled with sugar. Top marks on consistency and texture.

Overall the presentation was nice and the delivery driver was polite and friendly.

So if you fancy a treat, give it ago and prepare to have your sweet tooth fully satisfied.

Donuts & Shakes operates from 42 Apart Hotel on Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe and it is available for collection and delivery through the Just Eat website.
