Some of the local pubs, restaurants and cafes etc plan to open from this Saturday 4th July but if you are thinking of venturing out, try to read up on the rules of the venue before you intend to visit. Not all venues will be listed below but if you want to add to it just comment on the Facebook post for this article.

The Lincoln Imp

There will be procedures in place following Government guidelines to keep staff and customers as safe as possible at all times.

  • Sanitiser stations on entry
  • Contact details taken to adhere to Government request
  • One way systems in operation
  • Staff to seat customers

Inside the venue:

  • On entry you will be seated as there will be no vertical drinking
  • Table service option
  • 4 People from the same bubble can be sat together (only 1 to go to the bar)
  • Bar service will be split to order & pay then a collection point
  • Empty glasses will be collected by staff and do not need to be returned to the bar

Outside Areas:

  • Social distance standing allowed
  • Outside seating 6 per table from your bubble


  • One way system
  • Regularly cleaned, all touch points sanitised regularly

Unfortunately the current guidelines do not allow us to have entertainment or sport commentary but we still welcome you back to the Lincoln Imp for a friendly drink or 2 😀

The Wortley House Hotel

🍻Entry to the pub will be through either the main front black doors or through the single white side door at the rear of the pub. 🍻The only exit is through the door to the beer garden. 🍻 There is a sanitising station located at the main entrance to the pub where customers will be encouraged to clean their hands every time upon entering the pub. 🍻Upon entering there will be QR codes scattered around the pub. Please scan one using the camera on your phones, this will open a link to a survey were you will be asked to provide some basic information. This is to assist the NHS track and trace and your information will only be passed on should it be request by the NHS team. 🍻When moving around the pub, you must stick to the 1 way system in place and ensure you follow all social distancing measures necessary 1m+. This has been marked out with posters, floor stickers and safety tape. 🍻Benches and tables throughout the premises have been arranged to comply with social distancing measures and must not be moved. 🍻Just a reminder that people from 2 households or bubbles can meet or 6 people from different households as long as you comply with social distancing guidelines. 🍻There will be a seating only policy inside the pub, if there are no available seats inside you will have to make use of the large outside seating area. (This includes in the event of bad weather, if rooms inside are at capacity you will not be allowed inside). 🍻Card payments preferred but cash also accepted. 🍻You will still order drinks at the bar, however a 1 way, Socially distant queuing system is in place. 🍻Only 2 people in toilets at one time. 🍻No outside food is to be brought into the pub. 🍻No under 18’s in the main bar, please make use of the other spaces available. 🍻All under 18’s to have left the premises by 8pm.

“New system in place which consists of only 5 people at a time in the queueing area, only one person per party will be allowed to order at the till, others must take a seat if eating in, if not wait outside. The Comet

East Common Lane in Scunthorpe. Will open from 12pm on July 4th.

  • “We all must keep a social distance and please be aware you may have to queue but we will try our best to keep it as short a time as possible
  • On entering please sanitize your hands at the station there is a station at every doorway and more dotted about all over
  • We all must follow the one way system and keep a social distance there are markers over all the floors
  • We all must give our details for the track and trace system which will be kept for 21 days
  • We must not allow children to run around inside they must be seated and accompanied to the toilet
  • Toilets must not be over crowded please keep to a minimum
  • Play park is out of bounds until the government say otherwise ( sorry )
  • Please bare with us as this is all new to us but if you are unsure of anything we ll do our best to help
  • Please don’t abuse the staff as you will be asked to leave
  • We will be cleaning all hard touch areas constantly throughout opening areas to keep you safe
  • If possible please pay by card or the app we are having created and hopefully up and running by the time we open
  • There will also be a limited capacity and music kept to a reasonable volume so no need for shouting as that causes a higher risk
  • Let’s all stay safe and keep to social distancing and the other guidelines so we can stay open and you can enjoy a pint with your friends
  • Zero tolerance on any rule and guideline breaking”

The Penny Bank– Confirmed they will not be reopening until early Sept due to improvements/alterations being made to the venue.

The Royal– unconfirmed on facebook as to whether they will follow their other Greene King family in the July 6th opening.

Cafe INDIE– Set to reopen the cafe on August 1st 2020.

Mary Rose Bar– confirmed not to be 4th July

Class Six- Confirmed they won’t be opening on 4th July

Greene King pubs will not reopen until Monday 6th July to avoid a Saturday opening. This will include The Farmhouse, Queensway, The Priory.

The Penny Bank issued a message that they will NOT be reopening until early September at the earliest due to improvements being made on the venue.

Cafe INDIE confirmed they will not open the cafe until August.

Mary Rose confirmed they will not be reopening on 4th July.
