The entertainment had actually been organised by the lead singer of one of the acts, “Soul Destination”, Martin Thomas. He was first on stage, covering the duties of compere along with performing a number of soul and motown songs. He did a tremendous job of warming the audience up, stomping up and down the stage as he delivered his songs. The room was full and the dancefloor was occuppied right from the start.
Soul Destination are a 7 piece band. It would appear that Soul Destination are already building up quite a following. After doing such an excellent job of entertaining the audience.
Martin introduced the audience to “Suki-Soul” who continued our Soul and Motown journey with songs from female soul and motown divas, The Ronnettes, Aretha Franklin and a number of other hits. Suki was also a very energetic performer who joined the dancers on the floor whilst still managing to sing. Towards the end of Suki’s spot, the room began to fill up ready for the main act of the evening Soul Destination.
