Slow Riot, Finno & My Fake Empire, The Lincoln Imp on Bank Holiday
Monday 2nd April 2018.
Budheron Promotions brought the extended Easter weekend to an end with a great night of live music at the Lincoln Imp.
First up were alternative rock trio from Hull, My Fake Empire, who featured event promoter Mark Budheron on drums.
An enjoyable set from a band I hadn’t seen or heard of before.
The band were promoting their debut EP, have also been playlisted on BBC Introducing during March, as well as having a number of local gigs in Sheffield and Hull coming up.
One of Scunthorpe’s newest indie rock groups, Finno, were up next.
Having seen this trio perform before, I knew what to expect, but found that the actual performances of the band members had improved since I last saw them.
All three talented members put on a great performance and can next be seen on May 19th at Café Indiependent as part of Wet Record’s Royal Bedding gig.
The main headliners, Slow Riot, who are a four piece band from Limerick in Ireland were up next.
The band has been described as post – punk, but appeared to be more a mixture of several different styles to me, making it hard to describe them.
The band impressed, especially with the main vocals, which deserve to be heard in a much bigger venue.
All three bands put on a great show and are worth checking out if you have the opportunity.
