Scunthorpe Little Theatre Club present their family pantomime Sleeping Beauty at The Plowright Theatre from 9-13 January and tickets are on sale now!
Princess Rosamond’s christening is cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse. On her 18th birthday she will prick her finger on a spindle and die.
The spell is modified by Fairy Winifred. Despite the fairy’s intervention and all the spinning wheels in the land being burnt, on her 18th birthday Rosamond pricks her finger, but because of the good fairy’s counter spell, instead of dying she falls asleep for 100 years.
Prince Neil, who is in love with Rosamond, is distraught at the thought of never seeing his true love again, but with the help of his friends and intervention from an unexpected source, the crisis is averted and they all live happily ever after.
This new script by Alex Hall has all the elements of the original story, but with some up dated twists and turns, woven together to bring a traditional pantomime to the Plowright Theatre.
Showings at 7pm and a Matinee on Saturday at 2pm. Wednesday night is sold out.
Tickets are priced £9 each with a family ticket (two adults, two children or one adult and three children) £34. Booking fee may apply.
