Work will start January 2015 on an £80,000 new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) on Lodge Moors in Scunthorpe.
It will replace the cage area kick about situated on the junction of Bolsover Road and Moors Road.
The new MUGA will be finished by spring 2015 and will provide a range of sporting activities including football, basketball, netball and volleyball.
There’ll also be an outdoor gym that will provide eight fitness stations for children and families to engage in physical activity together, and create more choices for all young people as part of the youth programme, but also to engage families too.
Cllr Liz Redfern, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said:
“This is part of a committed programme of improvements to create more activities and things to do for young people and their families.
“Existing multi-use games areas are proving extremely popular and we are committed to providing further opportunities that will give young people something to do in their leisure time. Choice is the name of the game in North Lincolnshire.”
