The ice bucket challenge has now been taking over Facebook feeds for a few weeks now but if you have done that or donated maybe you are set for a longer challenge?

For people who don’t drink this is a breeze. It’s like Stoptober for smoking, except as the title suggests you go sober for October swapping alcohol for non alcoholic beverages for a whole month.

So what’s the benefit, well besides doing your insides some good and possibly your outsides if your prone to drunken accidents, it’s for charity and it is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support.

By signing up to be a sober-hero, you are doing something amazing for people with cancer. All the money raised by those Going Sober this October will help make sure that Macmillan can be there for people facing cancer when they need it most.

So will you Go Sober? raising a glass (of water) and standing proudly beside people facing cancer. Your support will mean Macmillan can be there so that even more people don’t have to face cancer alone.

You can sign up as a fundraising individual or a team. So why not challenge your friends to join your team and STAY SOBER FOR OCTOBER.

Any individuals or teams from Scunthorpe entering please get in touch and let us know what your team name is and your progress. We can then keep an eye on the fundraising star leader boards on the official stay sober website.
