Dalgona Korean Kitchen Now Open: Enjoy Vibrant Street Food

Dalgona Korean Kitchen is officially opening Friday 10th October.
Doors open from 12pm.

Don’t all rush at once for indoor dining because, it is a small café with very limited seating but you can also order at the counter for takeaway.

Situated at 294 Ashby High Street.

Inspired by Korea’s vibrant street food scene, the menu features all the favourites: from crispy K-Fried Chicken and sweet & spicy Tteokbokki to comforting bowls of Ramen and their signature Korean Corndogs. Every dish is made with heart, flavour and a little “Seoul”.

Ramen will be served in-house only for now while suitable takeaway containers are sourced to keep the quality (and safety!) just right.

🚫 No guest toilet facilities on site

“Be gentle with us, it’s our very first opening weekend! 🫶 Come early, come hungry and help us kick off this delicious new journey!”

It’s always nice to have a healthy option when ordering food and always good to have options of different cuisines and flavours.

The name for restaurant, Dalgona, which apparently (I googled it) refers to both a type of Korean honeycomb toffee candy and to the milky coffee drink that gained viral popularity. The word itself comes from the Korean “달고나” (dalgona), meaning “It’s Sweet” and is used for the classic street candy made with melted sugar and baking soda, which is then pressed flat and imprinted with a shape.  (If you’ve seen Squid Game, you’ll know)

But, while they may be some sweet treats served it’s all about the savoury flavours and umami.
