Success for the first Humber CampFest

Humber CampFest 2025

Last weekend saw the first ever, Humber CampFest. The fields were packed with all kinds of camper vans, a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. A few of us without vans, braved the tent life and the sunset and sunrise over the showground was beautiful.

The weather was very unpredictable but we are in the UK, so that’s standard and it didn’t put people off or dampen spirits. We arrived on Friday night and pitched up. Once we’d got sorted we headed over to the food vans and we all chose something different, hog roast special, stone baked pizza and some Spaniard fries from Mac in a Box. Food prices were pretty typical for a festival but we didn’t want to faff cooking our own outside the tent.

The Humber view stage was a large open marquee, which created a lively atmosphere and warmth. DJ Rory Hoy got the crowd bouncing for a good few hours with a real mixture of tunes for all tastes and once the noise curfew kicked in after 11pm, it was silent disco time until the early hours for some festival goers. The stage was pretty loud from the tent camping as it was across from the speakers if you did head to bed before 11pm but luckily little kids seem to sleep through anything.

The vibe of the festival was very family friendly and safe, there were lots of children playing and enjoying the fields. The kids area had lantern making and a lovely lady who did story time for the little ones and a magic show.

Daytime was a relaxed vibe and we were early risers, we grabbed coffee and butties from the food court and took a wander down the market area to see what was open. There was a good variety of stalls and some really decent prices.

Live music started around midday and campers sat and relaxed in their chairs. The onsite bar was so cheap, I felt like i’d gone back in time! Some great deals on offer and the cocktail van was stunning to look at, and also very reasonable price.

Saturday, again another packed schedule of live entertainment and I really enjoyed the cover Band, Hi-Fi Dive. Really nostalgic for me as that was my teen years and I loved the throwbacks to the early 00’s of Kerrang and Scuzz.

Once the sun went down, the lanterns lit up and the light up fairy wings shone. The children across the festival gathered to parade with Light Up Winterton around the site. You can also catch the light up parade at Winterton light switch on. The organisation Light Up Winterton is passionate about providing activities for the youth in the area, so check out their page for upcoming events.

All in all, if it’s back next year and you want a family friendly camping experience with the family, or as a solo or couple, this is a good place to start. If you live locally, you may think, why camp? But the beauty is, you can give it ago and if camping isn’t for you then just drive or catch the 360 bus.

I didn’t take many photos of the event but I did capture plenty of video clips. You can see my montage of clips below.
