I’d recently asked on Facebook, where people wanted me to review and a few of you tagged “Bite Me”, which is one of the areas newer food offerings serving up delights like triple cooked skin on fries, steak loaded fries, homemade nachos, burritos and smash burgers to name a few.
I opted for the box deal “Carnivore Munch Box” which comes with 2 classic smash burgers or chicken burgers, 8oz of steak, 4 chicken strips and a choice of peppercorn sauce or gravy. I also ordered the kids meal with burger and fries for our daughter.

The box deals usually work out better value for money, and I always like a box with a selection in, there’s just something nice about all tucking in and picking at different things around the dinner table.
Let’s talk about the “Carnivore Munch Box”, so upon opening the cardboard box you are greeted by 2 huge smash patty burgers, luscious thick sliced steak strips topping your thrice cooked fries and the crispy chicken strips tucked in the back. The burgers alone were pretty filling! The meat texture and taste were good quality, nice balance of burger sauce ratio to cheese and patty, the meat was spilling out the sides, as the meaty goodness couldn’t be contained by a bun. There was a small bit of lettuce in there, I know some people are mixed on the opinion of salad in your burger, but I do like a bit of crunchy lettuce, fresh sharp onion and a tomato at times so that’s the only thing that could have brought it up a level for me, but that is personal preference, and these were the classic smash patties.

The star of the box was probably the steak, it was succulent and tender with a slight hint of salt and garlic seasoning. It was very tasty and you got plenty of it! I never expected takeaway steak to travel very well, but I can say IT DID! and it was still hot, and the juices seeped into the fries below. I’d say if you want a steak and fries, this would be a good option when ordering take out. I was missing my gravy from the order, and I have heard the gravy is pretty tasty so maybe another time but to be honest the flavours coming from the different elements in the box didn’t necessarily need a sauce and I am usually a person that loves my sauces, our fridge is literally full of every sauce going and I didn’t need it, you can also opt for peppercorn sauce.

The chicken strips are a decent size and made from tender chicken breast with a tasty crisp seasoned coating, quite salty but I do like salt. The fries had an amazing flavour, you could tell the effort that had gone into them, very moreish with little crispy scraps nestled between them. The fries have nice texture and are packed with rich flavour and if you order these you’ll probably keep picking at them even though you are full already.
The kid’s meal, the burger was a decent size for £5.99 and the chips were crispier in this box without the steak juices obviously. My daughter said the chips were her favourite!
