“Mighty Welsh Math-Rock” The Decoy @ The Lincoln Imp

Described by Kerrang as “mighty welsh math-rock” The Decoy have gone from strength to strength since releasing their debut album ‘Avalon’ last year, which was premiered by Kerrang after their ‘Parasites’ EP previously caught their attention.

Hailing from the depths of Pontypool in South Wales, The Decoy have since moved on from humble beginnings playing in their local circuit, to touring the UK with bands they have
admired since being kids in a cover band. Having shared the stage with bands like Attack! Attack!, Press to Meco, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Decoy have managed to make their eclectic sound fit in with a variety of others. They’ve also notably toured with Freeze The Atlantic and played the Giant Squid Stage at Y-NOT Festival in recent years, where they played with Arcane Roots, Queen Kwong, Madness, Noel Gallagher, Sikth, Abandoned by Bears and Neck Deep to name a few.

In 2015 they appeared on the TV show Made In Cardiff ‘Live at the Vaults’. They are currently working with Chris Coulter (Arcane Roots/Jamie Lenman) on a new single to proceed their second full length. The Decoy also proudly endorse Marshall Amplifiers and now, the beautiful folks at Vocal Zone, who are greatly appreciated as we all enjoy beverages that do not aid singing (beer). To date, The Decoy are super proud to be winners of Torfaen’s Got Talent. Usually those kinds of things are won by kids with amazing voices, that year they made the wrong choice.

Played with:
Freeze the Atlantic, Press to Meco, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Trophy Eyes, Veridian, Attack! Attack!, Abandoned by Bears, Massmatiks, Sikth, Arcane Roots, Queen Kwong, Madness, Noel Gallagher, Neck Deep, and The Hives.
