Debenhams in Scunthorpe has launched the search to find a local hero as part of a competition which will see the winner officially opening the new store.

Opening at 10am on Friday 24th October, the winner will be given a special makeover before taking centre stage to cut the ribbon, declaring the store open.

Whether it’s someone who goes that extra mile in the area or a member of the local community known and loved by many, the winner is guaranteed to have an unforgettable morning to celebrate the newest addition to North Lincolnshire Retail Park.

Store manager, Chris Claxon, will be judging the competition and is urging people from the local community to nominate worthy winners by sending 150 words on why they should win. All nominations should be emailed to scunthorpehero@havasww.combefore Friday 10th October.

The new store will occupy 40,000 ft housing Debenhams signature inspirational departments across two floors.

The ground floor will house Women’s Fashion, Accessories, Lingerie, and Health & Beauty. Contemporary fashion brands will include Red Herring and H! by Henry Holland, in addition to our celebrated portfolio of exclusive designer ranges Principles by Ben de Lisi, J by Jasper Conran, RJR.John Rocha and Star by Julien Macdonald. A Wallis concession, as well as stylish casualwear from Mantaray, Maine New England, and The Collection round out the offering. At our premium cosmetics and fragrance hall, customers will find all the latest products along with our specially trained beauty consultants who will be on-hand to give expert advice.

Men’s Fashion, Accessories, Kids, and Home, as well as a contemporary Café will occupy the first floor. Men’s fashion will include contemporary brands Maine New England and Mantaray, as well as exclusive designer ranges RJR.John Rocha, J by Jasper Conran, Jeff Banks and a selection of men’s suits.

To ensure shoppers have a space to relax and refuel during their shopping trip, the Scunthorpe store will house a newly designed Café with a menu of delicious cakes and pastries, freshly prepared sandwiches, soups and salads, alongside freshly ground coffee.
