The Big Sleep Out 2026 with The Forge Project

On Saturday 10 October, World Homeless Day, people will be swapping their beds for sleeping bags and spending the night outdoors at Brigg Town Football Club CIC to raise awareness and funds for The Forge Project.

From 9pm until 7am the following morning, sleeping outside with just their sleeping bags, giving up the comfort of their own beds for one night whilst raising money to support people in our community who are homeless or going through difficult circumstances.

The Big Sleep Out isn’t intended to replicate the reality of homelessness. Spending one night outside in a safe environment could never do that. It is, however, a chance to stop and think about what life can be like for people who don’t have a safe place to call home, while raising money for the support available to them here in our local area.

The Forge Project are hoping to raise £1,000 and they want YOU to get involved.

💙 Want to take part?

The Sleep Out runs from 9pm on Saturday 10 October until 7am on Sunday 11 October at Brigg Town Football Club. You’ll need to bring your own sleeping bag, food and drinks. Toilets will be available, but tents are not permitted.

Families are welcome to take part, with children remaining the responsibility of their accompanying adult. Please register with The Forge Project before the event.

If you can’t join us on the night but would still like to support, you can donate towards their £1,000 target, with the money raised helping The Forge continue supporting people who need them.

“A big thank you to Brigg Town Football Club and Pip Huxford & Jim for supporting the event and giving us somewhere to hold this year’s Big Sleep Out.”
