The answer is, quite likely!
I’m sure some of you never thought you’d see the day that Nando’s would choose to open a branch in Scunthorpe, I certainly didn’t but I held out hope and that hope expanded a little when I saw Grimsby announce the chain was opening up in Freshney Place, planning has been submitted and surely it’s got to get permission! So we could have our very own soon! I also assume some of you could not really care less, but Nando’s attracts lots of people. People usually travel to nearby cities just to have a Nando’s.
Location plans have been proposed for the takeover of the old Pizza Hut building. Nice location straight off the motorway with parking.

Consultation period ends 23rd April 2026. With plans submitted to revamp the exterior of the building as well as the inside (obviously) and plan looks pretty striking from the outside with large red love hearts and a possible canopy covering an outside seating area.
Whether you’ve heard of Nando’s or not, it is a good thing and it does tend to bring people to certain locations. Of course it’s not helping the town centre, which is a shame but it’s progress and with this name putting it’s backing into Scunthorpe more could follow?!
