Review: Gourmet Brownies from Brownie & Co.

Brownie & Co. is Scunthorpe’s sweetest new treat. A fantastic new small business has arrived on the Scunthorpe independent food scene. For those seeking something rich and chocolatey straight to their door on a weekend. Brownie & Co. hit the sweet spot where exceptional taste meets a sincere commitment to ethical practice and sustainability.

At the heart of Brownie & Co. is a simple promise of honest, comforting and indulgent treats made the way brownies should be. After sampling their selection in the OG selection box, I can confirm they deliver on this claim with a passion. These brownies are a revelation in richness and texture, chewy edges giving way to a soft and gooey centre that melts in the mouth.

What sets them apart is the commitment to flavour purity. In an era of mass-produced sweets and baked goods, Brownie & Co. proudly rejects artificial preservatives and colourings. Every bite speaks to the care and quality of the process. You don’t just taste chocolate; you taste the difference; that careful, thoughtful baking makes, with different layers of colour, texture and flavours throughout each bite. It’s the kind of nostalgic, homemade quality that elevates a simple dessert into a genuinely happy moment and getting a box of brownies that look that good delivered to the door is going to make most people very happy!

As you can see the selection box is packaged in a neat brown card box with a viewing window and I must say, they do look great! It would make a perfect gift for someone (or yourself). You can also buy the brownie’s individually and there is no minimum order.

So it was time for the taste test and these brownies are a revelation in richness and texture. Firstly, I went in for the White Chocolate and Raspberry creation, it perfectly balances the indulgent sweetness with a delightful tang and juicy sweetness of fresh and freeze-dried raspberries, creating a wonderfully moist and complex bite. The chewy edges giving way to a dense, gooey centre that melts in the mouth.

Kinder Bueno brownie was loaded with crisp and creamy Bueno pieces and kinder chocolate chunks. Making it the ultimate indulgence. It was layered thoughtfully with a sort of textured buttercream and contained Bueno hidden inside as well as on top.

Lotus Biscoff Brownie, this was one of my households personal favourites along with the Raspberry and White chocolate Brownie. The unique taste of the caramelised and softly spiced Biscoff biscuit gives a warm blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, giving it a cozy, autumnal feel, paired with the soft brownie and Biscoff Spread layers.

Oreo Brownie, Oreo’s are not everyone’s cup of tea. I personally quite like them. This Brownie looks like a giant Oreo in disguise. It’s got the dark outer edges with a white vanilla cream centre and crushed Oreo biscuits for decoration and crunch. Oreo’s play on that bitter chocolate taste partnered with a sweet milky centre and this brownie does that.

Brownie & Co. have made the transition from a simple love for baking to a business dedicated passion for the creation of these sweet treats. So if you’re tempted, check out their very own website, you can order via their website and choose collection or delivery in an evening.

All the brownies were huge, thick and decadent with a deep chocolate richness for those chocoholics out there. You can check out my video below so if you’re looking for a treat that feels genuinely homemade, tastes spectacular and hits you with a rich chocolate punch. Brownie & Co. should be your next stop. This is just the start as the business literally launched last Saturday 11th October!

Ordering and delivery days and times vary but it’s predominantly evenings on the weekend at the moment. So take a look and when the weekend comes around and you’re craving a tasty treat, you know where to try!
