Friday nights are food truck Friday at the new Shadow Bridge Brewery location on Normanby Road.
Outside braving the cold was the Meat & Bread gazebo. Equipped with their fryers, smoker and a tasty street food menu to pick from.
We tried the Belly Pork & TT’s Gyro and the huge hot dog with a side of chilli & cheese TT’s (fried potato tots).
The potato tots were topped with large rings of fresh chilli and melted cheese and these were an absolute winner for us. Crunchy, crispy and a melt in the mouth middle, very addictive and filling.

The Belly Pork Gyro was neatly encased in a soft and fluffy flatbread, nice texture and not too “bready”. They weren’t tight on filling and it was brimming! So filling, definitely could not have managed anything else after tucking into that. The Belly pork had held it’s flavour from the smoker and went well with the crunchy chilli, fresh flavours of coriander and salad with the added crunch and melt of the potato tots in there. It was also very neatly wrapped, which really made it so much easier to eat.

The hog dog was giant! as was the bun. Generously sprinkled with fresh chives and crispy onions with a good quality tasty sausage embedded in a soft brioche roll.
The food was all very well presented and fresh ingredients used. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.

We carried our food inside to the warmth of the cosy little room and bar area of Shadow Bridge Brewery and thoroughly enjoyed chatting to the owners. It’s got a real sense of community in there and friendly vibes with added bonus of dogs to fuss. We will definitely be returning for more street food nights.
I forgot to take photos because I did my little video of the food and then obviously couldn’t wait any longer before I tasted it so I’ve screenshot some from my video. (Apologies)
It’s really important to support nights like this with little food vendors because not only will you get to try something different, you’ll be supporting a small business and actually more than one small business if you visit them whilst they are at a pub or venue pop up because you’ll be able to grab a beverage or two.
