Food for thought Scunthorpe was founded in early 2019 to support and aid Scunthorpe’s rough sleeping community.
Volunteers work in outreach teams to give out food/drinks and essential items. Food for Thought offer friendship and support for the complex lives of these individuals.
This year Food For Thought are launching “Food for Thought Shoe Box appeal.”
For anyone who would like to take part or for any schools or associations please see the image below for suggestions when creating your box.
Their project for the winter months is to support and give shelter and warmth in kit items of sleeping bags and tents where they can.
Their expenses are provided by donations, kind volunteers and valued supporters. If you have possible donations their cause, please message to advise, the following items would be really helpful;
Tea, coffee, sugar, uht milk, hot chocolate, drinks, water, biscuits, cakes etc, sleeping bags, coats, gloves, hand warmers, socks, men’s underwear, toiletries (no sprays) & feminine products, first aid supplies. And dog food! (Living on the streets is frightening, having a dog provides some form of protection, warmth & company)

Services supporting the homeless in Scunthorpe:

✅ The Forge Project is open 5 days a week Monday – Friday offering hot food, clothing, support and referrals for homeless people to access.
✅ New life church Brumby Wood Lane offer a hot meal every Wednesday and overnight shelter available.
✅ The Midland Langar Seva Society provide a hot meal at Britannia Corner every Thursday evening.
✅ Ironstone centre Monday – Friday 12-2pm for shower facilities.
