The Hospital Players present A Sting in the Tale
‘A Sting in the Tale’ opens on two once successful crime-writing playwrights, Nigel Forbes and Max Goodman, endeavouring to complete a block buster to pay off their mounting debts – or are they fulfilling their full potential by plotting the perfect murder?
Ann, Nigel’s nagging wife, is the ideal victim – especially as she is heavily insured. It all seems plausible but there are plenty of twists and turns in store, not least the arrival on the scene of the stage-struck Detective Inspector Berry…
Publicity Officer Rachael Elliott says: “‘A Sting in the Tale’ combines mystery, tension and wonderfully witty dialogue. The cast are enjoying developing layered performances, and as always we have a skilled back stage crew on hand to create the right atmosphere on stage.” The cast consists of Jake West, Graham Wells, Rachael Elliott, Melanie Mason and – making a guest appearance for The Hospital Players – Andy Jackson.
Rachael continues: “We are very pleased to welcome Andy Jackson to the cast. Andy has a great deal of experience and will be a familiar face to Scunthorpe theatre audiences following his performances with local groups Wilton Productions and Scunthorpe Little Theatre Company.”
The play is directed by The Hospital Players’ chairperson, Jan Gregory. Jan says, “I love a story with twists and turns, and little surprises along the way. This play fits the bill perfectly.”
