NEW: Northern Sky festival In Scunthorpe

The very first Northern Sky festival will take place at The Baths Hall over the weekend of the 3 & 4 September. Three stages of great live music.

Richard Hawley will headline the festival on Saturday, 3 September. He is known as one of Britain’s greatest songwriters of the past 15 years and in February completed a UK tour which included a sensational stop off at The Baths Hall. He found success in the 1990s in indie band The Longpigs before starting a successful solo career which has seen him nominated for a Mercury Music Prize twice and a Brit Awards once. Last year he released new album ‘Hollow Meadows’. Continue reading NEW: Northern Sky festival In Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe Nights // Now In Print

gaze

If you haven’t already seen we have now joined the NEW printed newspaper publication to hit Scunthorpe brought to you by the guys over at MYSCUNTHORPE. The paper has been named SCUNTHORPE GAZETTE and is into it’s second issue. We were asked to join the team and as we pretty much give provide the content for our site anyway, we thought why not give it a go.

We will list events happening locally and selected reviews will be printed monthly. For any enquires or news regarding the paper please contact editor@mymediauk.com and for all entertainment news, review requests please contact scunnynights@gmail.com.

It really helps us if you have an event, to create a Facebook event. This is because we just don’t have enough voluntary time to search for every event or type out poster information. So our easiest method is downloading our google calendar which automatically updates when we accept your event on Facebook. So please invite us via our profile. https://www.facebook.com/scunny.whatson

We will miss events out from time to time as we do take this challenge on in our spare time and continue to provide our service free to you to advertise and publicise anything happening.

Thank you to everyone who has followed us for the previous 2 years we have been running and we hope you will continue to use Scunthorpe Nights. Please help by sharing our page or sharing any statuses that catch your eye to something going on.

Many Thanks

Leanne Gazi
(Scunthorpe Nights Creator)

Jackson Live in Concert

Friday, 20 February, 2015 7:30PM
The Baths Hall

Tickets are priced £18.50 for adults and concessions £14.50 (booking fee may apply)

Michael Jackson is not only remembered as one of the most influential artists of all time, but many of today’s artists have been inspired by his iconic style. His career spanned nearly five decades of music, and he was continually at the forefront of popular music.

Jackson Live in Concert sees long-time fan and hugely talented Ben recreate the Michael Jackson experience with his stunning rendition of all his favourite songs. Ben’s portrayal of Jackson has to be the most accurate and exciting tribute to the King of Pop to have ever toured UK theatres.

Ben is joined on the stage by his Incredible Band and Dancers who work their way through all the hits. He’s got the look, the moonwalk and the voice! His renditions of Thriller, Beat it and Billie Jean are truly sensational.

Jackson Live in Concert features all-live vocals and superb musicians and dancers, fabulous costumes, and of course all the signature dance moves associated so fondly with the undisputed King of Pop. Pure MJ!

TONIGHT// TACHELESS FINAL GIG OF THE YEAR

Whose been your favourite Tacheless Act this year?…Or maybe you would say All of them?

Gig Alert// Mapped Out & GYH Present Racing Glaciers

On Friday 14th of November Lincoln Imp takes host to another fantastic line up with Mapped Out in association with Get Your Haircut Promotions to proudly present Racing Glaciers plus supports.

If you don’t know them, you soon will. They’re a fantastic 5-piece indie band from Macclesfield. Although a new offering, they’ve already played this year at Radio One’s One Big Weekend, The Great Escape, Beaconsfield, Secret Garden Party, Liverpool Sound City, Y Not and Strawberry Fields Festivals.

They combine pop melodies, powerful basslines and post-rock influences, are concrete proof that hard work, and plenty of it, pays off. The group made their first EP in just five days in a living room, earning critical online acclaim and then followed it up with their second, Ahead Of You Forever, at the start of 2014. This tour will be to support their third.

They have consistently released excellent offerings and have been brought to national attention through Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.

Supporting Racing Glaciers will be The Carnabys+ Recruits.

The Carnabys visited the Lincoln imp earlier this year, we had never heard of them until then and they put on a great performance with a great list of catchy tunes and energy. Read our Carnaby’s review here.

The Recruits are also a relatively new band but are already becoming a favourite. Recently reaching the Scunthorpe Rock Open Finals, which will take place at the end of the month on November 29th at the Lincoln Imp. Read Recruits review here.

Advance tickets, priced £4, available from The Lincoln Imp
