Where could you visit?

The best FREE day out we vote for is East Park in Hull. We know it’s not in Scunthorpe but it’s worth the trip! It’s absolutely brilliant for kids and families. There are various outdoor play areas here, all modern and quite large. There’s sometimes free events here too. There’s a FREE animal centre providing a walk round petting zoo type experience with plenty of animals to see and even a walk through butterfly house. There is a boating lake with paddle swan boats and a water slide but I’m not sure if this is open. There’s plenty of spots for a picnic if you don’t fancy the cafe.

If you don’t want to go to the furthest side of Hull then West Park is a lot closer to the Hessle end, it’s got play areas and a few animals but not as many and it’s not as big.

Outdoor Cinema // Normanby Hall Country Park

We posted last week about the recent news that Normanby Hall will be hosting a night of open air entertainment with a large cinema screen showing the sing-a-long version of the hit film ‘The Greatest Showman”.

New date for Greatest Showman Sing-along at Normanby Hall Country Park

Due to the huge popularity of the open air cinema on 2 September, Skylight Cinema will be returning to Normanby Hall for another magical evening of open air cinema on Monday 3 September. So don’t worry if you missed out the first time round!

The night begins at 6.30pm, with the showing at 8pm (this is due to the time of sunset). As well as the feature performance there will be a range of refreshments available, including a bar.

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Saturday 28 July at 9am.

Book your tickets via Eventbrite.
